Cameleers Garden at the Ghan Legends Museum
Whether you look at road or rail history in the outback camels were there first servicing the freight task of remote communities and isolated pastoral properties long before the advent of the horseless carriage or motorised transport. Set on the lawns of the Old Ghan train museum the Cameleers Garden is a spectacular setting for an outdoor function during the day or the evening. Many brides choose our pergola for their wedding. The Cameleers garden was set up as a tribute to the 'Afghan' cameleers after whom the legendary Old Ghan Train is named. Interestingly most weren't actually Afghans! The Gardens, boasts several date palms.
It truly is an oasis in the desert
