Inducted into the Shell Rimula Wall of Fame at ReUnion 2011.

Peter William (Wheels) Royter began in the industry in 1964 with Western Transport Sydney loading trucks in the depot.  After Westerns he drove a spare parts ute for Peterbilt.  At age 17 in 1966, Peter hitchhiked to Melbourne and was put up in the Footscray Police cells overnight. Next day he started work with Blackistons, and received driving lessons from relay drivers (Nick Struiksma, Bob Bolson and Alf Littler).

In 1968, it was back to Sydney with an endorsed licence for semis to work for W. J. George.  Peter wanted to drive interstate and was offered a job with River Transport driving an AEC Mandator, then to Gunson & Weil, carrying Johnson & Johnson to Brisbane.

In 1972 Peter married Sandra and drove locally until 1974 when the call saw him driving long distance for Jones Brothers, Sydney.  A move to the Central Coast saw a new job with G.R. Beedell, carrying Alcan to Brisbane.  In 1976, with his own LB80 Scania, he drove Johnson & Johnson to Brisbane and cable drum back for Cubico. After selling that truck it was back to driving on commission.

In 1985, whilst crossing the road in Brisbane, Peter was hit by a car with no lights.  He spent 3 months in the P.A. Hospital, Brisbane with 14 broken bones, including 2 breaks in his spine and was given no hope of working again but, in 1990, with money from the accident,  he bought a truck and an ex-Cubico van carrying Kelloggs, Sydney to Brisbane and Everhard, Brisbane to Cairns  returning with palm trees and plants.

In 1996 Peter sold that business and bought a 113 Scania and started towing for Cubico.  After 2 takeovers from Mayne Nickless and Linfox, Peter bought a trailer and works for Linfox northbound from Sydney to Melbourne and Gold Coast to Melbourne weekly.

Peter has no intention of retiring and still loves his truck and his industry.
