Laurie Refalo was born in 1972 to Charlie and Terrie Refalo. His passion for tractors and trucks was evident from a young age, when his parents would often find him playing with Tonka Trucks and then as a teenager he would help out with fixing his dad's and brother's trucks.
Laurie joined his father and older brother in the family business in 1989 after finishing high school. He started out operating plant and machinery at the age of 16, going on to become a competent driver and operator. In 1991 Laurie's younger brother Luke joined the family business and together the business was expanded. As soon as Laurie was old enough to get his truck licence, he learnt to drive a G88 Volvo doing tipper work around Sydney.
Whilst being mainly focused on the earthmoving side of the business, transport and trucking has always been Laurie's passion, even though he hates to admit it. Laurie ensures a great deal of pride and effort is taken in the presentation of the Jeffsann truck fleet.
One particular day that Laurie recalls was the first day he spent driving Jeffsann's newly restored Mack B Model (affectionately named Misty Blue) and lying in bed that night suffering from all sorts of chest pains. After numerous visits to the doctors and several x-rays later, it was concluded that Misty's lack of power steering was to blame!
Together with his partner Kellie, they are proud parents to Josh, Cameron, Dylan, Savannah, Mackenzie and Tenielle.
Laurie is one of the few genuinely good guys. His integrity is felt throughout the industry, he always treats people the way he would like to be treated and always looks for a solution to solving any problem that may arise. Laurie, like his dad, stands by the motto 'a fair days work for a fairs day's pay' and treats his employees with dignity and respect. Together with his two brothers Joe and Luke, they have created a successful company, employing 70 staff, that continues to thrive in these uncertain times.
