Bob (Evo) Eveston was born in Wilcannia New South Wales in 1948. He grew up in Ivanhoe surrounded by family that owned trucks and earth moving equipment. The first job he had was driving an R model Mack for his uncle Scotchie Robertson. He has been a Mack man ever since. His first truck was an F model Mack to start his business of carting sheep and cattle, in outback New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia.

In 1982 with his wife Mundy, Bob brought his pride and joy the Lignum Lair a Mark 1 400 hp Superliner. Proudly displaying his daughter's names on each side. Carting stock all over Australia, trucking bullocks from Birdsville to Gepps cross sales for over 10 years and sheep out of western Queensland to Broken Hill. There were plenty of rough roads and blown tyres but never complaining, it was just part of the job he says.

In 1996 the Superliner was stretched and raised with a 525 hp motor fitted. Bob built some of his own cattle crates and in the late 1980s was proud to have one of the first four deck sheep crates in western New South Wales. In the Superliner he did an 18 month job carting crude oil from Bodalla to Moonie.

In the late 1990s Bob gave away the stock carting and did two years general freight from Brisbane to Perth. It was during this time that he and current wife Noel brought tippers and another Mack (Titan 525 hp). They set up a base at Cascade, Western Australia. Evo has always been an owner operator and taught both his daughters to drive from an early age to give him a spell on a dirt road somewhere. Both daughters have since owned Mack trucks themselves in true Eveston family tradition.

Over the years he has shared his knowledge and experience to help many young drivers get into the industry. As of 2015 Evo and Noel are still operating two Mack trucks in the grain belt of Western Australia. Over his career he has carted livestock, general freight, crude oil tankers and tippers, most memorable are his stock carting days.
