Sydney Brunalli was born on 21st of October im 1939 and has lived all his life in Western Australia. In 1963 he started driving trucks as an employee. Syd was always keen to have a go on his own and in 1967; Syd and his wife Heather entered the transport business at Jarrahdale in a second-hand Ford F600.
At the time they mainly hauled general freight and produce but Syd wanted more. He actively sought cartage with a local mining company in 1970 which, over time, enabled the business to expand from 2 to 22 vehicles. The pride of his fleet was a White F750, a model still close to Syd's heart today. The Brunalli association with Ford continued right up until the demise of Ford heavy vehicles in the 90s. 1987 saw a transition to the southwest town of Manjimup and Warren District Transport, a company specializing in on-time produce cartage.
The business grew and Syd realized that there had to be a better way than flat-tops and tarps so he bought his first tautliner. This was a first as was his move into using B-doubles and both innovations led to increased efficiencies in the business.Syd has always had an unwavering commitment to maintenance and looking after all aspects of his plant and equipment. His vehicles are acknowledged among the best maintained fleets on the highways.
His perseverance and dedication to the transport industry has paved the way for various transport reforms and improvements. He is brilliant with finance and administration. As well as running his very successful transport operation, he volunteers his services to local people to help with financial and general business problems. Syd had forty-five very successful years in business and wouldn't change a thing.
