Shane Franklin

Inducted into the Shell Rimula Wall of Fame at Re Union 2011.

Shane was destined to drive trucks after having been all around Australia in trucks with his father who himself is an inductee.

Shane started driving trucks in Adelaide, doing local and country trips, with both semis and trucks with trailers. He was driving Albions, Fords, Ivecos and Internationals.

He then got his road train licence and drove triples for Bull's Transport for a time on the Adelaide to Darwin run. Eager to try something different he took a job driving for Bunkers, travelling the eastern states and across the paddock to Perth with the mail. Shane then came up to the Territory where he drove for G.K.T Transport on the Darwin to Alice Springs run. When G.K.T closed up he drove for Gulf Transport with the new International Eagles still doing Darwin to Alice and Adelaide. When the contract with Northline ran out he drove the huge mine roadtrain tippers at the Tanami and Pine Creek mines still for Gulf Transport. This is where he still is today.
