Colin Hancock

Colin Hancock, Col or Grumpy to those who know him well was born in Camden New South Wales on the 4thJune 1955. He grew up in Campbelltown where his father was the first taxi owner in the area and was also the instigator of the establishment of cab radios in the region.

Col joined TNT Car Carrying in January 1978, working from the Mascot office as an assistant accountant. He quickly gained on the ground experience through a variety of duties. In 1983 Col transferred to Brisbane as TNT Car Carrying Queensland State Manager. A promotion to a national operational role saw him return to Sydney in 2003.

Col is now Director of Transport Operations with CEVA and currently resides in Brisbane with his wife Ann. He travels to Melbourne or other capital cities on an almost weekly basis.

Col has a passion for the car carrying industry and is considered a guru in his field. He has experience in the design and development of trailers and side tarps and is evolving to be the expert in site design. Col has been strategically involved with the implementation of national and state industry policies and procedures and works with state and federal transport unions. He is a straight shooter with strong integrity. He genuinely cares about the people who work for him and has assisted many sub-contractors with sound business advice. Col wants the industry to thrive with successful outcomes for all parties.

Col has just led TNT/CEVA through its best year with respect to vehicles handled, revenue generated and return on sale to stakeholders. To quote one major customer, he is the pillar of the industry and even more to that at CEVA. He loves the business and acts as if it is his own. Col always encourages people to do the same when making decisions and taking action. It is more than a job for Col. He can be grumpy and challenging, however he is a true inspiration to everyone.
