Pat Hallinan

Pat Hallinan was born in Sydney on the 27th July 1954. He married Leila in 1978 and is the father of Narelle, Stephen, Adam and Bryan.

Pat left school at 15. His father Jim Hallinan was a cartage contractor for Lion Tiles Brickyard at Enfield New South Wales and Pat obtained a job as a bulldozer operator at their clay quarry at Kemps Creek. When he was 18 he gained his truck licence and purchased his first truck, a used International eight wheeler and began delivering clay to the brickworks. Over the next five years he bought two new UD's for carting clay and sometimes salt and gypsum from the wharves in Sydney. These were later traded for three new Atkinsons. At this time his business known as Hallinan's Haulage was based at his home in Cabramatta with his trucks being parked in the backyard and street at night.

In 1980 Pat purchased property in Kemps Creek as an office and truck depot, also developing it into a sand and soil yard. Around 1983 he ceased driving trucks in order to concentrate on managing and further developing his business.

Throughout the next two decades Pat's business expanded with the purchase of more trucks being mostly bulk tippers of various makes including Transtars and Macks, transporting mainly quarry products, but also coal to Wollongong, as well as a few flat tops doing general transport to Canberra. In later years he also carried bulk waste for landfill and recycling.

Since 2000 Pat's business has acquired and developed multiple quarries and recycling/ waste management facilities throughout New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory and Victoria. This includes the trucks, machinery and equipment required to operate them, along with many long term, highly qualified and professional employees. In 2005 Pat changed the business name to HiQuality Group.

Pat is still active in the day to day operations of the business along with his three sons who are continuing to develop business opportunities for the company. Trucks and machinery have played a massive part in Pat's life, and he still gains much satisfaction from being part of this industry.
