George Kitts
George Kitts was born in Dalby, Queensland in 1964. His family moved across to the west when he was just a year old. George knew at a very young age that he would follow in his dad's footsteps and drive a truck. Every chance he could get, he was in the truck with his father, from a petrol Dodge up to when he got his licence at 17 in Darwin.
George started running the Nullarbor and for two or three years was the youngest on the road. He then went on to cart cattle, low loaders, refrigerated vans and general freight. He was most thankful for the help and support given to him from all the old school fellas who used to look out for him because his dad was so well known.
George's first truck was a Scania then later he had a Volvo and in 1986 he got a brand new W model Kenworth. After several years and starting a family he went back to driving to help out others.
He has a talent for putting together a good general load and making it fit to the amazement of others. One of George's favourite trucks was an ex-Consenteno's black Mack, which needed all his experience to drive that big girl.
Several million kilometres later, George now drives for a very respectable Western Australian company, carting freight to the Pilbara. George's motto is to keep the respect and good values he has been taught in the last forty years in the industry. George is very proud that his brother Ross is doing the same.
