Robert Lee

Robert Irwin Lee (Robbie) was born in England in 1963 and arrived in Dampier with his parents in 1969. He has driven trucks since his teens with CBI and SDR Construction and a few transport companies along the way. Robbie also had his own Tow Truck business and took on roles as a welder on various projects. Robbie's main love has always been trucks so in the late 1990s he decided to go into a partnership to start Bone Transport. After the business built up to a fleet of 15 trucks it took a turn for the worst and the partners split with the business going into liquidation. Robbie worked his way back with one truck and the support of his partner Sharon Hambridge and his son Korey.

Korey Lee is now General Manager for Robbie who is the Director of LEEs Transport in WA. Robbie has always been innovative and this is the main reason for his success as a transport operator; clients know they can trust Robbie to consolidate loads to minimise their cost just by getting him to look at their loads.

Robbie has driven trucks all across Australia from West to East, North to South for well over 30 years. He has developed a standalone family business which in 2016 employs up to 60 people. The fleet is made up of 50 prime movers and over 100 trailers from hard work. Robbie works hard on developing his work relationships and puts plenty of hours into the business. He is renowned across Australia as a stand-up bloke who will get the load there safely and economically.

Robbie Lee is still very much active in the business. He will still jump into a truck to do a run or pickup trucks from the East to bring across a load to WA. He has helped many a trucking mate out with a job and taught multiple drivers on better ways to load and drive trucks more efficiently. Robbie gives mechanical advice on just about everything in the fleet and supports local people with apprenticeships and community sponsorship. He is a stalwart of the trucking industry in WA and well deserves his place in the Shell Rimula Wall of Fame.
