Len Mepstead was  born on the 9th March, 1951.  He started working in the transport industry at 18 in 1969.  Working for Jim Hilbert with Industrial Waste Collection, he was driving a Leyland twin-steer dump master for approximately three years.

He remained with them for approximately eight years doing interstate work.  When Len left Spargo he started sub-contracting work for Chemtrans.  He purchased an Atkinson then updated to an S2 Kenworth doing general container work until Chemtrans sold out in 1997.  Len sold the truck and commenced working with Toll Ipec doing local work for about four years.  He then transferred to their Linehaul Division doing interstate work.  Len has now been with Toll Ipec for over ten  years and is known as one of its most professional drivers.

Len has been in the transport industry for almost 40 years, both as a driver and also an owner-driver.  He is well-known in the industry as a good friend and operator.
