Trevor Rawiller

Inducted into the Shell Rimula Wall of Fame at Reunion 2013.

Trevor Rawiller was born in Bendigo, Victoria in 1950.  He was raised in Marong, a small country town just outside Bendigo, Victoria.  He attended primary school in Marong and later travelled to Kangaroo Flat technical college.

At the age of 16 Trevor left school to work on his uncle's dairy farm in Dingee, Victoria.  He spent several years working there, until he started employment at a textile factory in Bendigo.  He was employed to work in the mill until the opportunity arose to learn how to drive a delivery truck, an Albion 400. The deliveries took Trevor down to Melbourne on a regular basis and he grew to love the job. There began his love affair with the trucking industry.

In 1974 Trevor purchased his first truck, a Seven Series Dodge, to carry general freight, Melbourne to Sydney. A year later, Trevor bought his first prime-mover, an ACCO 3070 fitted with a Cummins V903. Trevor subcontracted for McPhan's Transport, Eastern Seaboard Express and RJ Moore carting hay and general freight.

By the 1980s Trevor was operating three prime-movers carting cement in bulk bags for Central Victorian Transporters (CVT).  He had a truck working for CVT for most of the 1980s and 1990s.  His other two trucks generally carted bulk goods in convertible tippers and Meadow Lea cooking oils on a flat top trailer.

In the early 2000s, Trevor secured a long-term contract with a major steel reinforcing company from South Australia.  With  his son, Andrew, Trevor operated tow prime-movers, running from Melbourne to Adelaide.Trevor has bought all his new trucks in Bendigo, Victoria.  They have all been from the International Dealer, except the Sterling that he drives which came from Poyser Motors.

Trevor has spent over 40 years working in the transport industry.  Over the years, he has experienced many changes, including road development, fuel prices and changing rules and regulations.

Trevor still resides in Marong, where he and his wife, Joan, built their family home and business. They live right next door to the house where Trevor grew up
