Laurie Refalo

It was evident from when Luke Refalo was a toddler that trucks were going to be his 'thing'. Luke's brother-in-law had the task of dropping him off at pre-school in his 1418 Benz but somehow Luke would convince him to take him to work instead. Then when he was in school, Luke would often get reprimanded for watching the trucks out the window instead of looking at the blackboard.

After completing high school, Luke was finally able to follow his passion. After completing his mechanical apprenticeship with Readymix Asphalt, Luke joined the family business and together they expanded the company.

Luke recalls when his brother Laurie was teaching him to drive a truck, that they got into an argument when going up a hill, Laurie was yelling at Luke to 'knock it back a gear' Luke was yelling back at him no, after a bit of screaming and the truck struggling Luke confessed 'I don't know how to'. Luke would often argue with his brothers to let him drive trucks rather than fix them. Since those days, Luke has come a long way and it is often spoken about his ability to get the job done. In the mid 1990s, Luke finally cut his teeth driving the first R Model Mack that Jeffsann owned. In the early days of Jeffsann, Luke fulfilled the role of mechanic as well as fulltime truck driver, ensuring the fleet stayed on the road.

In 2000 Luke married the love of his life Leanne and together they are parents to Megan, Brendan and Jayley.

Luke's integrity is felt throughout the Jeffsann family. Never afraid to get his hands dirty, Luke is always the first out there having a go. Luke takes pride in following in his late father's footsteps 'never asking an employee to do anything that he isn't prepared to do himself'. Jeffsann now employ 70 people, a tribute to Luke's efforts in ensuring that employees, sub-contractors and customers alike are looked after. Luke continues to make an outstanding contribution to the Transport Industry!
