Glen Stephan

GLEN ROSS STEPHAN was born in Brisbane Queensland in November 1952. It was evident from a young age that his interest in trucks would develop into a passion that has lasted over 50 years. In 1967 Glen started a five years mechanical apprenticeship with Duce Motors in Brisbane. He graduated as Dux and Apprentice of the Year.

In 1988 Glen was appointed National Fleet and Maintenance Manager for Refrigerated Roadways. During this time along with the day to day running of the maintenance of the fleet and workshops in all major capital cities he became involved with Castrol and Cummins. In 2001 Glen joined Territory Truck Sales in Darwin with Dennis Buntine, being part of the Volvo test team reporting to Sweden on new Volvo products within the Territory environment. He was involved with conversion of 20ft containers for transport and export of live Camels.

In 2003 Glen took up a position a Scott's Refrigerated Freightways as National Fleet Maintenance Manager. His involvement included day to day maintenance the implementation of NHVAS accreditation for maintenance and management systems. Design and installation of Safety Line 1300 call centre. Scott's was sold to Pure Logistics. By 2006 he was with Western Star as Service Manager in Rocklea and in 2007 Glen went to Scott's as National Fleet Maintenance Manager. During his partnership with Castrol, Glen was instrumental in the development of several Castrol products. Vectron Long Drain 15W40, Agri Grease Ultra and Spheerol BTX2. He was a participant in Castrol's Toughest Truck Campaign showcasing Vectron Long Drain 15W-40 CK4 extended oil drains filmed in remote locations across the Northern Territory.

Glen has always been a champion for innovation and fleet efficiency. He was involved in the first trial of Shell Diesel Extra which made him a pioneer and a driving force behind the implementation of Premium Diesel in the Australian transport industry. Glen's continuing association with Cummins sees him held in high regard with a legacy that will live on for many years. Glen is well respected for his dedication to his work. He has dedicated his career to the technical side of road transport working for the betterment of the industry that we all work in.
