John Stupuras
Inducted into the Shell Rimula Wall of Fame at Reunion 2011.
John Stupuras was introduced to trucks by his father Augustus who became a truck owner-driver after settling in Australia in 1949. As a young boy, along with his four brothers, John began washing, greasing, and teaching himself to drive trucks around the outskirts of Albury NSW.
After moving to Melbourne John completed a sheet metal and fiberglass apprenticeship with ANSETT at Melbourne Airport. On finishing with ANSETT John tried his hand at taxi driving, before following the family tradition of heavy vehicle interstate driving between Melbourne and Sydney in 1983.By 1991 John purchased his own Volvo F12 B-double and was at home behind the wheel of a big rig. John continues to drive trucks today locally around Melbourne.
