Ricky Sauerwald

Since he was five years old Rick (Plugger) Sauerwald has been in love with trucks, riding along with his dad Bill in the cigarette truck. Rick did a diesel mechanic certificate before fulfilling his dream of driving.

Rick started his trucking career in 1983 carting general freight before moving into semi-tippers and then interstate driving. He then moved into carting dangerous goods such as LPG, cryogenics and fuel. Some of the companies he drove for are Scott's of Mt Gambier in 1983 delivering general goods to Adelaide and Melbourne. From 1991 to 1993 Rick was with Boral Transport driving local delivering cement and LPG. In 2005 Rick drove for Cootes for three years delivering petrol and LPG.

Working both local and country runs, Rick has had the support of his wife Delice and family throughout his career.

At the present time Rick is working for Caltex Australia delivering fuel from Adelaide to surrounding areas.
