Gary Fear

Gary Kenneth Fear was born and raised in Carlton Victoria where he married his wife Jean. . His surname earned him many nicknames over the years including 'No Fear', 'Fearie' and 'Fearsome'.

His Grandfather, Norm Fear, operated a market garden in Notting Hill Victoria using his own truck to take his produce to Market. Ken Fear, his father, operated a truck carting livestock around the Meeniyan area Victoria, and, after his retirement, drove coaches for a company in Shepparton. Gary's brothers, Robin and Ken, are also truck drivers.

Gary's first job after obtaining his licence at 18 years of age in 1974 was working with Jock Finlay of Leongatha carting livestock in a butterbox with aV8 Caterpillar motor. Gary later worked for Margaret Fallon of Modella carting fertilizer and potatoes, Corcoran Bros doing drainage at Cora-Lynn, Yannathan for potato growers and drainage of orchards in Yarra Glen and Castlemaine in Victoria. He also carted out of Jindi Cheese Jindivick for Wally Kenny to a factory in Dandenong.

Gary has operated a total of eleven trucks over his years as owner driver and subcontractor. His first truck was International 392 petrol auto bogie drive cement truck working for Pakenham Blue Metal. This was followed by a Cummins 220 diesel bogie drive 10 speed cement truck and a Kenworth 350 Cummins and 42ft Kruger Trailer with a full set of container pins for general cartage. He also operated a V8 Kenworth with a Detroit to cart wheat at Moree, potatoes from Ballarat to Cora-Lynn and Heinz and Coles container cartage from the Wharfs in Melbourne.

In 2016 Gary's is still working carting potatoes out of Ballarat and Traralgon to Catani, for GO&M Lineham and Scamporlino in his 1981 Louiseville 9000 V8 903 motor. Gary also owned a Mini-Skip Toyota Dyna 1979 4.5Tn for 11 years. His trucks have all been called 'Fearsome' and his CB call is 'White Knight'. Congratulations Gary.
