K & S Fuller Transport P/L Trading as K&S Transport is a family owned and operated company that's been in business for over 40 years. Kelvyn and Shirnley Fuller ate self-made business people who began operations as K&S Transport in Peak Hill in Central NSW in 1966, with one truck, a stock float and wheat bin servicing local farmers.
The family packed up in 1972 and relocated to Brisbane where Kelvyn started work as a sub contractor with a local business servicing the townships from Brisbane out west as far as Roma. After nearly 40 years K&S Transport still provides a service to many of their original customers.
Over the years the company has expanded from one or two trucks for a number of years to their current fleet of 20 prime-movers, all proudly Kenworth and DAFs, and 30 trailers ranging from refrigerated vans to tautliners and flat tops. K & S Transport provide transport solutions to Brisbane Metro, south-west Queensland and north Queensland for big businesses such as National Foods Limited, McKey Distribution and Blenners Transport as well as a number of family-owned and small businesses.
Kelvyn and Shirley are hands on with the day to day running of their company personally overseeing most tasks. Their daughter, Jacqui, is in charge of the fleet maintenance while brother-in-law Colin Scott is responsible for transport operations. Ruth Agate, the office manager is not a part of the family but is considered one. She has been a major part of the company for 10 years now. At present K&S Transport employs around 25 staff to assist in operating a successful business. Many drivers have worked for Kelvyn and Shirley for a decade or longer which in itself shows what a good business they run and the loyalty they engender in their staff. Shirley is the backbone of the business, keeping Kelvyn on the move while at the same time taking care of all the company finances, which Kelvyn sees as the most important role.
Kelvyn and Shirley are also very conscious of supporting locals where possible. They shop locally for all supplies and materials to maintain their fleet and run their office. They also support local charities and have donated generously over a period of many years to a variety of worthy causes.
