Allan Hall

Inducted into the Shell Rimula Wall of Fame at ReUnion 2008.

Alan Hall had truck driving in his blood.  Alan's grandfather, Harry Bill Hall, started Hall Bros in 1920-1936 with draught horses and carts, then to T&A Model trucks in the Blue Mountains at Faulconbridge and Springwood.  In 1951, his son, Charlie, started Hall's Transport.

Alan started Halls Transport & Son.  Alan started driving for his father when he was 22.  After 12 months of driving, his father gave Alan one of the trucks.  It was a 1914 Mercedes prime-mover and a trailer.

The Hall name is synonymous with road transport and has been for generations in Alan's family.  As a grandson of Harry Hall of Hall Brothers (1920-1936), and the son of Charlie Hallo of Halls Transport, when it came to naming his own transport company, he chose Halls Transport & Son; the son being Raymond Hall who is also working in the business.  Apart from his very first truck, a petrol engined Dodge, all the rest of the trucks have been diesel.  The family say diesel also runs in Alan's veins.

The trucking business has been in the family since 1920 and to this day it is still going strong.  Alan has been in the business for over 40 years, and with his son Raymond only in his early 20s, the firm is in good hands for the years to come.
