Robert, Mark , Geoffrey Littlejohn

Geoffrey Littlejohn was born on the 28th January 1949 at Toora and spent many weekends and nights after school in the truck with his father Bob. After leaving school he worked at the local milk factory until at 18 when he was able to get his truck licence early to work for his father. In 1970 after his marriage to Evelyn they moved to the Latrobe Valley with their two children where they farmed while Geoff continued with interstate and local truck work until they moved to Nathalia.

Geoff and Evelyn bought and operated a fertiliser and grain depot using a Ford flat-top to cart their own produce. This was updated to a Western Star when Geoff's son Mark took over the semi cartage for the business and he did interstate runs during the quiet times for many years.

After the sale of the business, Geoff continued to drive for Rex James, Richards Logging and RTL prior to retirement in 2014. He still likes to do a trip for Mark occasionally.

Mark Littlejohn was born on the 20th November 1973 at Mirboo North and his interest in the transport industry was a natural progression through the generations of his family. Mark like his father Geoff was able to obtain his heavy duty licence early to assist in the family business. He started on interstate runs for such companies as Ian Phillips, Brian Hicks and Graham Sutton.

Mark travelled all over Australia and enjoyed the trips out to the Moonie Oil Fields as much as he enjoyed voluntary work carting donated loads of hay to drought or flood affected farmers.

Mark married Kaelene and they have three children. Together they operate their own beer delivery business in the north of Victoria. Mark's children have to go for a trip with dad so who knows, there may be a fourth generation of transport driver in the making.

Robert (Bob) Littlejohn was born on the 11th December 1923 at Toora, South Gippsland. His parents were early pioneer settlers in that area. At 19 Bob enlisted in the Australian Army and served in the Transport Division for six years in Papua New Guinea, the last four years with NG War Graves Maintenance Unit constructing the war cemeteries prior to his discharge in 1948.

Returning home Bob married Catherine and they had three children. He then had several trucks including Bedfords, Dodges and a 1418 Mercedes Benz. Bob did local and interstate work for many years. His son Geoff worked with him until Bob and Cath moved to Bundaberg, Queensland for health reasons.

Bob continued to drive for Fairymead Sugar Mills until he retired to care for Cath who passed away in 1993. Sadly Bob passed away 12 months later.
