The Strasburg family name has been synonymous with livestock transport in Queensland for close to 60 Years. Lester Strasburg's parents, Arthur and Joyce Strasburg, commenced their transport business, AN & JD Strasburg Transport at Glamorgan Vale in 1956 with two 1954 International trucks. Over the years the business grew and by 1969 their transport business was operating with eight trucks. In 1974 Lester and his brother Raymond started their own livestock business called Strasburg Bros. Livestock Carriers operating out of Toowoomba and Marburg.
In 1987, with good friend Phil Trussell, they started King Bars which grew into a successful well known business manufacturing aluminium bull bars for trucks Australia-wide and overseas. They then moved cattle and built bull bars so, in 1997 the brothers decided to start building their own trailers. They needed some thing stronger than what was available. The brothers believed that as they used them, they could build trailers best to suit their working conditions. Raymond sold out of the business in 2004 and in 2006 King Bars was sold to concentrate on the livestock business. The business now consists of 16 prime movers and 34 trailers servicing Queensland, Northern Territory and New South Wales from Charters Towers to Casino, west to Longreach and anywhere else that cattle need to be movtrasburg Trailers was founded in 2009 to manufacture all types of trailers including flat-tops, drop-decks extendables and specialised in stock crates and dollys. There is no doubt Lester's business acumen and dedication to the betterment of the live stock industry as a whole as contributed his personal success. Strasburgs employs up to 20 staff of whom many are long time employees. Lester says times are changing and things are getting harder. He believes his company gives value for money and good old honest service. With 37 years experience in cattle carting and customer relationships that have stood the test of time, Lester Strasburg believes that honesty, hard work and staff dedication to doing the job well has made the business what it is today.
