Laurence Dyson
Inducted into the Shell Rimula Wall of Fame at ReUnion 2007.
Laurence Collins Dyson's contribution to the transport industry is both substantial and widespread. Not only have his actions benefitted the industry in terms of founding a major passenger transport company, his work ethic and values have been imprinted on the family to make it what it is today.
It is rare for such a large family to remain so close and the chief reason for this closeness is the business that Laurie created. It is truly a family affair when all emphasis is on letting profits develop the business and benefit and strengthen the industry along the way.
Laurie Dyson started this culture by never letting pass an opportunity to improve or expand. This attitude is quite evident in looking at Dyson's history as a whole and is something the company prides itself on in the present day. Again, Laurie Dyson can be attributed with instilling this outlook on business life. At 48 years of age, to create what Laurence Collins Dyson did is a remarkable achievement. He laid the foundation with hard work and dedication and this was carried on by the second and third generation of his family making the Dyson group of companies peers in the transport industry. Laurence Dyson was a true gentleman of the industry.
